My Journey

It's been quite a long one...

My dream job was to be a pediatric nurse. Not being accepted into a nursing program was a major hurdle. I had two options, apply again the following year, or choose a different career path. Unwilling to spend more time as a "broke college student," another major it had to be. In short, I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. During my job search, I learned that a bachelor's degree made me "overqualified" for the positions I applied for. Once again, I had to change my career focus. So, you ask, how did you settle on the mental health field? I received a job offer from a community mental health agency that found me qualified to do their work. I often say to people, the mental health field chose me rather than l choosing it. I enjoyed the work so much, I went to graduate school for social work. The decision to pursue social work began a long rewarding career in mental health. I realized not being accepted to nursing school was a blessing in disguise. Mental health work IS my calling!

I enjoy working with adults 19 years and older who are experiencing anxiety and depression due to day-to-day life stress. Through the use of an Integrative therapy approach, I achieve my goal of working myself out of job by EMPOWERING those that trust me with their care.

I WORK FOR YOU!!!
